Dream in Purple Necklace
Dream in Purple Necklace

What supplies and materials did you use? The supplies and materials used for this necklace are small pliers, thin silver metal wire, metal string, beading wire, a sterling silver necklace and different beads.

What techniques did you use? My original thought was to make a Y necklace, and as my favorite colors are purple and blue, I decided to combine purple, blue and coppery brown colored beads. I took the sterling silver necklace, and attached the small and larger beads to both of its ends with the help of knot hiders. I tied the ends with a large silver hoop. Then I took the metal string hooked on both ends and attached the large flower bead combined with the dark purple one in the middle onto it. The next step was to attach this combination to the hoop. The I took a small purple bead, and tied it onto the hook with silver metal wire. I continued doing so by attaching a row of two pieces of chains and beads. The necklace opens and closes right at the linking large hoop.

Lessons Learned By making this necklace I learned how to work with metal wire and chain combinations effectively, and how to design a chain and bead necklace, so that it looked stylish and chic.

Why is this such a favorite jewelry piece? This necklace is not only easy to make, but also looks pretty either with a casual or a sophisticated outfit. Following the rules of asymmetrical symmetry, it follows the trend by remaining a classic piece.
